New team member – Paula Hughes

We would like to welcome Paula Hughes, our most recent addition to the Artington Legal team. Paula joins our employment and immigration team.

Paula advises on the full range of employment issues covering the entire employment life cycle from recruitment (including establishing rights to work in the UK) through to termination (including settlement agreements, post-termination restrictions and enforcement, and litigation) and everything in between (including long-term sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance issues and holiday pay for overtime work).

Paula is experienced in dealing with individual employment issues in conjunction with overseas HR business partners and lawyers as well as in devising and managing projects with a UK and global focus covering consistency in redundancy terms, core clauses in settlement agreements and data protection.

Paula’s recent tributes from a senior in-house counsel have included a thank you for ‘diving in head first, rolling your sleeves up and generally improving my lot [which] is greatly appreciated.’

Paula is an accredited mediator covering civil and commercial matters as well as workplace and employment issues. She also writes for an on-line employment law reference library.

Paula is a senior City-trained employment and business immigration lawyer (Hogan Lovells LLP, Eversheds LLP, Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP) with telecoms, financial and insurance sector experience gained at Colt Technology, RBS and Arthur J. Gallagher.

Paula has over 20 years’ experience of working with private and public sector clients ranging from financial and educational institutions to new UK start-up companies and overseas companies establishing their business in the UK.
